ALUMNI TODAY
I am humbled and inspired by my students’ curiosity, brilliance, vulnerability, intellect, and grace, and am grateful to have had an opportunity to witness—and attempt to support—parts of their journeys. The achievements below are the students’ alone.
Alumni¹ perform on major international stages and in arenas; receive commissions and premieres with GRAMMY-winning soloists, choirs, ensembles, and major orchestras; tour across North America, Europe, and Australia; and release recordings on recognized independent and national labels. They also lead projects—producing and arranging, programming major music festivals, and founding artist-led series and labels—often running end-to-end operations (production, design, web/admin, merch). Their work spans award-recognized theatre and dance and extends to film and television (sync placements), reaching independent scale—multi-million streams, six-figure audiences, DIY campaigns (billboards/postering)—with broadcast features. Recognition includes JUNO and Dora Mavor Moore awards, and credits on Polaris Music Prize lists.
Alumni hold tenure-track, directorial, and lectureship appointments at Canadian universities and conservatories, and teach across Europe. They complete graduate degrees at leading institutions in Canada, the United States, and Europe, often supported by fellowships and residencies. Their paths span music, the sciences, and technology—including practitioners who combine creative work with technical practice—and extend across law and mediation; bioscience, medicine, and healthcare; public service and financial regulation; logistics and skilled trades; software engineering and data infrastructure; AI/ML, computer vision, and mathematics; media and communications; and construction and contracting.
¹ Former students and mentees from my university- and college-level private instruction, courses, and ensembles; small-group applied labs (designed and led, biweekly), and long-form intensive workshops.
