Daniel Oore composes, performs, and records with musicians like Jerry Granelli, Julian Priester, Dan Weiss, Jay Clayton, and Sageev Oore. His music is featured in over twenty specials for CBC and Bravo, earning national (JUNO) and regional Canadian nominations and awards. He acts, dances, and choreographs in collaborations with 2b Theatre, Jasmine Oore, Cory Bowles, and Sara Shelton Mann. He is featured in lead roles and as a headliner in international award-winning and record-breaking productions. He teaches and researches, recently as Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at Grinnell College, and previously at the University of Toronto where he was also a Visiting Scholar in the departments of Composition, Jazz, and Music Education; a Bombardier Doctoral Fellow, and a recipient of the Faculty of Music’s Graduating Award and teaching award. He is a guest artist, scholar, and artist-in-residence at universities internationally including also in faculties of media, sound and culture studies. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation (IICSI) at the Memorial University of Newfoundland where he was affiliated with MEARL (Memorial Electroacoustic Research Lab) and the University of Guelph. Dani works across North America, Europe, and Australia.
